I have to say that my addiction to Hipstamatic is very strong but I might have to join Instagram.  Casetagram is a new iPhone case that allows you to use your Instagram photos as graphics for your design.  Log onto Instagram, choose one of the four layouts, populate your photos and purchase your original iPhone case 4/4S for $34.95.

Who’s getting excited?

Models, celebs and amazing clothes are the only elements needed for the “Fashion Weeks” around the world. Here are some the highlights from the London, New York, Milan and Paris shows:

After a long wait and a lot of fashion buzz, Kayne West debuted his Spring 2012 collection at “Paris Fashion Week“. The front row was decorated with celebs and fashion editors including Anna Wintour and Carine Roitfeld. Some of the editors wasted no time and began tweeting not so “sweet” tweets about the finished product.

Here are some of the looks from the show:

Gelato and pasta is not the only delicious things that Italy has to offer the world. “Milan Fashion Week” has also contributed some amazing fashion for Spring 2012. Here are some of my fav looks from Missoni, D&G, Marni, Versace and some stylish street styles:

The bold candy colored jeans of summer are officially “out” and sexy leopard-print jeans are now the must-have for the season. This new fall trend has already been spotted on major fashion players. Sarah Jessica Parker paired her “Stiletto Leopard” skinny jeans with a pink overcoat and pumps. While Lil Wayne wore his Tripp NYC animal print jeggings for women tight and low during his performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The denim design house of Current/ Elliot is currently leading the pack. For $198, you too can join the club and rock your own pair of these desired faded animal print jeans. Other brands like Joe’s Jeans, The Gap and Tripp NYC is also offering this trendy look for a little less.

Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) was started as a means to encourage consumers to shop and support the fashion industry during the tough economic times of 2009. It was first held on the fashionable streets of NYC, and now three years later, FNO has become one of the biggest international fashion events.

The huge fashion party jumps off on September 8th and spans over eight days depending on your location. Check out their website fashionnightout.com to find more detailed information for your city.

I have had many challenges in my life and picking a great look from the MTV VMAs has just been added to the list. From hodge-podge fashion to floral-leopard prints… it was a big fashion “don’t” of a night. However, I did managed to pluck some flowers from the field of weeds. The winner of the night was Beyonce in her blood orange caftan by Lanvin. It was the perfect dress for her baby bump “conceal-reveal” presentation. Congrats to Beyonce and Jay-Z for the new addition to their family. Read the rest of this entry »

As a fashion rule, trends from the 80′s should never come back to haunt us. However, neons can get a pass and reincarnate themselves into accessories for the summer. Here are some examples of these yummy neon treats that should satisfy your late-summer trend taste buds. I am obsessed with the Mui Mui Sequined Fabric Coin Purse.

In Fall 1998 I had an exciting opportunity to attend some of the couture shows in Paris.  I still remember the lump in my throat when I received an invitation (by messenger) for the YSL Spring ’98 show.  I was a student at the Paris Fashion Institute and those two days will live with me forever. The thought of taking a huge leap “outside of the box” can be very daring, but Rick Owens did just that in his Spring 2012 collection for men.  The collection consists of long striped dresses, maxi skirts paired with tailored blazers and over-sized cowl neck tunics. The looks are clean, smart and definitely masculine.

I am excited to see a designer explore a new level of creativity by taking an idea that transcends the familiar.  Of course, men in skirts is not a new phenomenon but it can start a conversation in our Western society of gender specific clothing.  I applaud Mr. Owens for presenting this collection and erasing gender assigned garments from our wardrobes.
