“The Fighter” with 6 nominations has joined the list of boxing movies that receive Oscar’s blessings. Christian Bale gets nominated for Best Supporting Actor, and he was pretty incredible. Here’s a short list of Academy Award Boxing movies — Robert De Niro (Jake LaMotta) in “Raging Bull” won for Best Actor in 1980, “Rocky” won Best Picture in 1976, and “Million Dollar Baby” in 2004.
